Keep a Positive Attitude
Even on a beautiful ship, things can occasionally go wrong. While cruise ships are well-oiled machines, a toilet may clog or an elevator may break down during your sailing. Stay positive during these times, and be polite to other guests. Someone who shoves in front of you to get on an elevator or complains loudly at dinner does not need to spoil your whole evening.
Be Mindful of Others
While you cannot control other guests, you can certainly control your own attitude. In addition to staying positive, you should be respectful of other guests onboard. Dress appropriately at all times (remember both children and grandparents are onboard!), and treat other guests the way you would like to be treated. If you have a problem, speak to management respectfully, and don’t involve other passengers.
Tip the Staff
Cruise employees rely heavily on tips in order to earn their living. Some cruises require certain gratuities per day. However, if you receive excellent service, you should tip that individual extra at the end of your cruise. This includes your waiter or waitress, dinner host or hostess, room service staff, and your housekeeper.
