Josh and Ginger - Riviera Maya, Mexico
It all started on March 4, 2015, at Robust wine bar, where they met in person for the first time. They met online, where many modern romances start. Josh won Ginger over with his charm and wit, which were obvious despite a terrible profile picture. He asked, “How do you feel about Steely Dan?” She responded, “Here’s my number!”
Since then, their relationship has flourished with love, respect and a mutual affinity for travel and music. Their individual passions have rubbed off on one another. Ginger has acquired an unexpected appreciation for concert art; for Josh, a newfound respect for lazy Sunday naps. And along the way, they’ve also built a life together with unforgettable experiences. Ginger and Josh racked up trips to Boulder, Cabo San Lucas, Chicago, Denver, Key West, Mexico City, Miami, San Diego and San Francisco. And last fall, they ended up in New York where they finally saw Steely Dan together at the famous Beacon Theater.
For those of you who know Josh well, you know that music is an integral part of who he is, and it quickly became just as important to their relationship too. It’s so important that Ginger and Josh bought their first home together last year largely based on the fact that the entire place is wired with a great sound system (that the previous owners smartly had playing when we looked at it for the first time).
Ginger and Josh also share a love of Halloween. A celebration of the thinning of the veil between their world and the spirit realm, it also commemorates abundance at the end of the harvest season. All of this appeals to them because they believe in living each moment in celebration – of the incredible blessings that have been bestowed upon them, and of the idea that there is something beyond our worldly experience behind it all.
And of course, Mexico … a place dear to them. Mexico is filled with color, history, delicious food and beautiful landscapes, and it’s populated by inventive and spirited people. Even Mexico City, rich in the heritage and mystery of ancient civilization, is famously and precariously built outward from an island and celebrates the present – there is always the chance of an earthquake or other seismic activity, reminding locals that the time to live is now.
Combining their love of music, Halloween and Mexico, Ginger and Josh are delighted to invite you, their closest family and friends to join them this November in Riviera Maya for their wedding in the spirit of "el Dia de los Muertos". They are thrilled to have you along for the ride as they commit to a life together. Thank you for sharing what Ginger and Josh know will be one of the most important and memorable experiences of their lives. They look forward to fun in the sun with you this fall!
