A couple was all booked and ready to go on their $10,000 Alaska cruise. A few days before departure, the wife was walking around and finishing her packing when she tripped and fell. She had to have surgery and the cruise was cancelled. If they had taken the insurance from the cruiseline, it would've only covered incidents while on vacation, not cancellation. They took the Allianz recommended to them and received a check a few weeks later for everything they would've lost.
When you're on a cruise ship, the only way to get you off in an emergency is to be airlifted. A woman on a Caribbean cruise fell very ill and needed to go to a hospital.
