The Ultimate 1 Day Guide to Epic Universe Orlando

Epic Universe is Orlando’s newest theme park, packed with 5 immersive worlds, thrilling attractions, tasty park snacks, and unforgettable experiences. A planned itinerary can be helpful to experiencing as much of Epic Universe as possible. Some of the parks most memorable moments are outside the rides, from themed dining experiences, spectacular nighttime atmosphere, interactive magic, and hidden gems found around the park.
If you only have one day to explore, arriving before park opening is key. Getting an early start will allow you to experience some of the most popular attractions before wait times build throughout the day. When you first enter the park head straight to Super Nintendo World to ride Mario Kart Bowsers Challenge and Donkey Kong Minecraft Madness. Super Nintendo World is one of the most popular areas in the park with higher wait times throughout the day, so make sure you download the Universal Orlando Resort app to monitor wait times before getting in line for an attraction. I would recommend purchasing an interactive Power-Up Band from one of the shops in Super Nintendo land. These are interactive wristbands that enhance your experience throughout Super Nintendo World, allowing you to participate in challenges and games, earn coins, and track scores throughout the land. The wristband connects to the Universal Orlando Resort app, where you can track your scores and earn achievements. At the end of your day, come back to ride Yoshi’s Adventure and enjoy a relaxing ride and a view of the park lit up at night.
After visiting Super Nintendo World, the next portal you will pass by is Dark Universe. Curse of the Werewolf and Monsters Unchained are two rides located here and usually have lower wait times than others. If this land isn’t your priority, you can always skip it and come back to it later. Prioritizing the experiences you are most excited about ensures you won’t miss out if crowds increase.
Isle of Berk is full of fun rides, interactive meet and greets, a dragon show, and home to the viral mac & cheese cone. Walk to the back of the land and ride Hiccup’s Wing Gliders and soar alongside Hiccup and Toothless. You must watch the Untrainable Dragon Show, approximately a 20-minute show where Toothless will make an appearance and soar over the audience. Show times will be posted throughout the area and on the Universal Orlando Resort website and app. If you are interested in the Toothless meet & greet, the shortest lines are at park opening and lunch time when wait times tend to drop. If you are looking for something to fuel your park day, stop by Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel or Spit Fyre Grill and try the viral mac & cheese cone on your way out.
If you like rollercoasters, make a quick stop at Stardust Racers for the ultimate thrilling rollercoaster. This ride has two tracks, yellow for a smoother park view ride or green for more intense airtime. The waiting lines typically move quickly since this ride has two tracks. You will need to store all loose items into a locker before entering the ride. Save yourself time and be sure to remove everything, you will be going through metal detectors. Facial recognition lockers are free!
The last area you must check out in the park is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. Make your way over to the Ministry of Magic to get in line. This attraction usually has a long wait, so grab a cold water or a butterbeer before you get in line! To experience The Wizarding World to its fullest potential, you will want to purchase a wand to participate in interactive magic throughout the area. Keep your eyes peeled for hidden gems in windows and special drinks, like The Beau the Bleu d’Occamy you can find tucked away at Bar Moonshine. If you need a moment to sit down and relax, stop in for the Le Cirque Arcanus show, inspired by the circus featured in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Take advantage of mobile ordering for meals and planning breaks during peak afternoon hours to help maximize your time. A quick secret, wait times often drop during the last hour before the park closes, making it a great time to squeeze in a few extra attractions with shorter lines!
