Dreaming About Travel: Caribbean

The Caribbean is a region of the Americas that consists of the Caribbean Sea, its islands, and the surrounding coasts. The region has more than 700 islands, islets, reefs, and cays. This makes the Caribbean a popular destination for cruises and beach resorts. Most of the major cruise lines sail to this destination and also have private islands, such as Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay, Norwegian Cruise Line's Great Stirrup Cay, and Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Cay. Our staff LOVES the Caribbean and the variety of islands that provide a unique experience for each island you visit. Today we are going to highlight three amazing Caribbean islands that you should visit for your next getaway.

The Bahamas

The name “Bahamas” comes from the Spanish words “baja mar”, meaning shallow water or sea. The weather is great year-round so it is the perfect spot to visit any time of the year! Avid snorkelers and scuba divers will love exploring the crystal-clear water and large variety of wildlife. The Bahamas should definitely be on the top of your vacation bucket list if you are looking for a relaxing beach getaway.

Barbados

Another Caribbean island we are dreaming about is the friendly island of Barbados! This island is 21 miles long and a smile (14 miles) wide and full of picture-perfect beach views! There is so much to do, making it the perfect vacation spot for those who looking for a new adventure. Swim with turtles along the west coast of the island, go underground at Harrison's Cave (a limestone cavern), or try windsurfing in the turquoise waters.

Spend your vacation in a state of pure relaxation. This island is also a great place for a romantic couples' getaway. One of our staff members got engaged in Grenada! Packing for a trip can feel overwhelming — pack too little and you're scrambling, pack too much and you're dragging a suitcase that weighs more than you do. After years of helping travelers get where they're going, we've put together the packing list we actually stand behind. Not the exhaustive, bring-everything-including-the-kitchen-sink kind — the smart, been-there-done-that kind.

My family just returned from our Walt Disney World Vacation a few weeks ago, and we had an amazing trip. But unfortunately, I have heard from many of my friends & family who have also taken trips to Disney, and did not have the best time. I think going to Disney nowadays takes a lot of planning and research prior to your trip so that you don’t spend your whole day waiting in lines and not having a gameplan. That’s why I highly recommend you should use a travel agent who specializes in Disney so that you can make the best of your trip. If you’re interested in having the best Disney World trip possible, keep reading!

At Brentwood Travel, we pride ourselves on curating unforgettable experiences for our clients. Recently, Travel Advisor Allison Roth sent her clients on a Viking cruise through Norway's stunning fjords and into the Arctic Circle - a journey in search of the magical Northern Lights. The journey began with an unexpected change of plans. As anyone who travels knows, the weather can be unpredictable, especially when sailing from Barcelona to the UK. Due to challenging weather conditions, the Viking Neptune was unable to dock at Tilbury for embarkation day. Instead of boarding at 11:00 AM as scheduled, guests were treated to a three-hour visit to an art museum in London before being transported to Portsmouth, where they embarked at 9:00 PM. While this meant missing the Amsterdam port stop entirely, Viking responded by providing compensation of $125 per person and refunding excursion costs. It's a good reminder that cruise lines like Viking work hard to accommodate guests when Mother Nature intervenes. Below is the review they shared with Allison about their incredible adventure.
