Which was your favorite resort and why?
“My favorite resort was the Hyatt Vivid Grand Island. It is a gorgeous new property newly built on the Cancun hotel zone. Looks over the Bay on one side and the Gulf on the other. There are two pools, one right when you enter the resort and another one on top of the hotel which is gorgeous. It is very modern, but also earthy and light. The rooms are great size for two guests, and there is a spa, golf course, and restaurants on property. They are not beach front; however, they have a beach club that you shuttle to (5 min drive), and includes more pool options, restaurants, and bars. This is an adult-only resort, which would be perfect for a honeymoon.”
What was the atmosphere and vibe of the resorts that you visited? Were they more laid back and relaxing or lively and energetic?
- “I stayed at the Breathless Riveria Maya Cancun. This resort was fun for people who love to mingle and solo travelers. There is a pool which includes a DJ in the afternoon, and different themes depending on the day. The food is great the Italian restaurant was my favorite. If you are looking for a good resort for a fun atmosphere, this is the place for you!”
- “TRS Coral Hotel was a breathtaking resort with many water features throughout the resort, as well as plants and greenery. This is also an adult only hotel, with a more chill vibe, perfect for honeymooners, or babymoons.”
- “The Dreams/ Secrets were more relaxed, there were plenty of pools and so many different options to choose from.”
- “Planet Hollywood was a more upbeat resort. There was music playing throughout the hotel and was very lively for kids and families. There are different levels of rooms you could stay at, but they had rooms across from each other that shared an entrance door, which would be great for families! This would be a special request as the hotel is unable to guarantee it.”
Can you share some highlights about the accommodations, facilities, and amenities at your favorite resort(s)? What were some of the standout features or offerings?
- “The Family Selection at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres was beautiful for weddings. They had amazing large venues with many options, as well as different selections to have the ceremony.”
- “I had never been to an all-inclusive before so having the food and beverages included was very nice. Also having so many options for meals was great.”
- “Dreams Playa Mujeres has a Dolphin sanctuary on site, which is a great bonus in case you do not want to travel for an excursion but still want to do something fun with the kids. They also have a great kids splash section, and in the preferred area of the property they have villas. These villas can accommodate families up to 8 (but I would recommend no more than 6). As well as having a lazy river which is exclusive for this side of the property. The villa has two full bathrooms, a half bath, two bedrooms (one with a king bed and one with two queen beds, and a pull-out sofa bed). They have a microwave and small fridge.”
How would you rate the quality and variety of dining options at the resorts you visited? Were there any noteworthy restaurants or culinary experiences?
- “Planet Hollywood had a GREAT buffet so I would HIGHLY recommend it for families looking for a place to go. There was even a station for kids, which few places have. It was shorter for the kids to go and get their own food as well as kid-friendly food, which some adults would also enjoy!”
- “Hyatt Grand Vivid had great food, I ate a little bit of everything from the hotel. And the espresso martinis were amazing.”
- “Breathless Riviera Maya had a good selection. Personally, I ate at the French restaurant, the Italian buffet, and was told by a coworker to go to the bar by the beach, which had wood fired pizzas that were a great afternoon lunch. They also have a steak restaurant, an Asian fusion restaurant, and a Mexican restaurant on property.”
Can you share your thoughts on what the quality of service was like at these resorts? Was there a standout resort?
- “Breathless had GREAT customer service and there were workers everywhere!”
- “Hyatt’s service was amazing, they were very attentive when we ate there, and were great about filling up drinks”
- “Visiting the other resorts I did notice there were also a lot of workers as well. They were all friendly and smiled at me as I walked by.”
