Q: What was your overall experience with Globus as a tour operator in Ireland?
A: I have traveled with Globus twice now and absolutely love the company! They make travel easier by taking care of all the planning and logistics, so you can just relax and enjoy the trip.
Q: How was the pacing of the itinerary - did it allow enough time to enjoy each location or did it feel rushed?
A: Globus creates detailed itineraries that balance sightseeing, free time, and special experiences for all guests.
Q: What was the accommodation quality like throughout the trip?
A: All of the accommodations we stayed at were high-quality and centrally located, which is so important to me when traveling internationally!
Q: Could you describe the tour guide's knowledge and helpfulness? How did they enhance the experience?
A: Our tour guide made our trip even more memorable than I could imagine! She was full of knowledge and very approachable. Whether it was explaining the culture and history, or directing us to the best pub or restaurant, she truly did an exceptional job. She brought humor, warmth, and storytelling to our trip, and made the entire group more comfortable and connected.
Q: What was your favorite destination/experience on the trip that potential travelers shouldn't miss?
A: My favorite experience on this trip was when we went to Giants Causeway on the north coast of Ireland. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site made up of over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns leading all the way into the sea. It was the absolute most breathtaking experience, and I would go back in a heart beat. We even had a couple on our tour that got engaged on the rocks!
Q: Were there any optional excursions that you felt were particularly worth the additional cost?
A: One of the optional experiences that I think was 100% worth the cost, was the Hillsborough castle tour. This is where the Royal Family resides when visiting Ireland. WE got to go inside and get a guided tour of the entire place, as well as explore the amazing gardens surrounding.
Q: How much free time was built into the itinerary, and what recommendations do you have for making the most of it?
A: We had quite a bit of free time in each city! During this time we went out and explored local shops, pubs, and activities going on. We were here the week before St. Patrick’s Day so there was a lot of activities going on that we took part in!
Q: What's something you wish you knew before taking this trip that would help future travelers prepare?
A: BRING COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES! There are days when you are out and about most of the day, walking around exploring. It can definitely be tiring, but nothing some good shoes and lots of rest can’t fix!
Q: How comfortable was the transportation between destinations, and how long were the average travel days?
A: The motorcoach buses were very comfortable and spacious! I would say the longest we traveled in a day was 3 hours from point A to point B, but we stopped along the way for sightseeing and bathroom breaks!
Q: For travelers with dietary restrictions or mobility concerns, how accommodating was Globus throughout the journey?
A: Dietary restrictions and mobility concerns is one thing Globus asks you to provide information about before your trip. They will do their best to accommodate these concerns, but always encourage travelers to review the specific tour details before booking. They outline the physical activity extent in their tour descriptions to ensure guests choose an itinerary that fits their comfort level.
