The journey began with an unexpected change of plans. As anyone who travels knows, the weather can be unpredictable, especially when sailing from Barcelona to the UK. Due to challenging weather conditions, the Viking Neptune was unable to dock at Tilbury for embarkation day. Instead of boarding at 11:00 AM as scheduled, guests were treated to a three-hour visit to an art museum in London before being transported to Portsmouth, where they embarked at 9:00 PM. While this meant missing the Amsterdam port stop entirely, Viking responded by providing compensation of $125 per person and refunding excursion costs.
