Last month, I was the lucky one chosen to represent Brentwood Travel on the inaugural sailing of the Harmony of the Seas. It was such a fabulous trip with perfect weather, and my only complaint was that the two day sailing wasn’t long enough. There is so much to see and do, and my husband and I barely scratched the surface. This was the first cruise that I’ve ever experienced, and a lot of my expectations were blown away. I thought our cabin would be on the small side, but our balcony room was very spacious and comfortable. This short cruise was enough to turn me into a cabin snob - I don’t think I’ll ever be happy in anything below a balcony when I cruise in the future! I also was assuming that, due to the size of this ship and the large capacity, it would be crowded and we’d have trouble finding our way around. We had absolutely no problems navigating the ship, and aside from the first day when everyone was boarding we never felt like there were tons of people all around. We managed to try a couple of the many dining options onboard. Our three-course dinner at the American Icon restaurant was fabulous. I had the grilled chicken with vegetables. It was a nice place, but not overly fancy. Very enjoyable! We couldn’t get enough of Johnny Rockets! If you’re a fan of hamburgers, milkshakes and all that kind of fun stuff, you’ll love it! One of the things I didn’t do was the enormous slide that goes up the whole ship. Unfortunately I was a big chicken, but all the people who weren’t afraid of heights were having an awesome time! When were were hanging out near the slide, we heard all the screams of people who were flying down to the bottom. We only had time for one stop on this short sailing, but it was a fun one! Nassau was such a beautiful and friendly place! We spent our time there shopping and enjoying the area. The people there are so nice and outgoing. At one point I was talking to a lady in a store and casually mentioned my husband’s name. She must’ve picked up on it, because she used it to address him when he joined us. I definitely ended up bringing home more gifts for us and our daughters than we intended after such as fun shopping experience. Back onboard, we managed to squeeze in some of the fun activities. We went to the Bionic Bar, where you order what you want and a robot mixes and serves your drink. We also went to see one of their shows, The Fine Line. We didn’t get a chance to see the Broadway production of Grease, but everyone said it was a fantastic performance. Overall this was such a fun experience, and I’m definitely ready to go again… on a much longer sailing! For more information about the Harmony of the Seas,
